Troop Mission
Through active scouts, active parents, and active leaders we maintain a fun and safe
environment that teaches our young men the values and morals that they need to become
outstanding citizens in our community and nation. We teach every Scout do his best, and to
excel at life.
Troop Leadership
We are boy-lead troop. This means that the troop's boy leadership plans and runs the troop
activities with supervision of the Scoutmasters. As a troop we believe that this is the
best way to run our troop, and that it teaches the scouts important leadership and life
skills.
Active Program
As a troop we take pride in being an active troop. We believe that an active program is
the best way for the boys in the troop to get the fullest experience in Scouting. We go on
one or two weekend activities every month. Among our activities include weekend camping
trips, week long summer camps, day trips to experience the great outdoors, and a 10 day High Adventure trip.
Men of Character
As a troop we stress good character to the highest degree. We teach the scouts how to
properly conduct themselves so they can become men of good character and successful in this
world. We teach the scout integrity, responsibility and accountability. As a troop we
demand a high degree of character from every scout, and an even greater standard for boy
leaders.
Eagle Scouts
Eagle Scout is the highest rank awarded in Boy Scouts. It is the greatest honor a boy can
receive in Boy Scouts. In Troop 102 we hold our Eagle Scout to an extremely high standard.
In order to earn this award the scout must give his best effort the improve and help the
troop. He must be a mature and responsible leader with a high degree integrity. Most
importantly must not just meet expectation, but surpass what is expected of him and give
his all to earn the award.
Since 1999 our troop has awarded 26 scouts with the title of Eagle Scout, with
12 awarded in the past 5 years.
